At Play Mart, we are continually implementing sustainable practices in our product and work environment. We base our playground equipment on recycled plastic lumber and have implemented the Take Back Program that recycles it again. We invest in our team at Play Mart and contribute to impoverished areas of the world. We assist in educating the next generation towards becoming responsible stewards of the earth. Our sustainable practices are tangible reflections of our mission.
“Sustainable” initiatives consider excellent design as well as ethical business practices. We at Play Mart earnestly embrace our responsibility to be outstanding corporate citizens.
We design our playground equipment product components to minimize waste and maximize efficiency, while making quality (vs. economy) standard practice. From stainless steel welds (when others use galvanized steel), to in-house recycled plastic lumber extrusion, the quality of the end product and its longevity is high priority. We back up our RSP™ (Recycled Structural Plastic™ made from recycled milk jugs) with a 100 Year Warranty, unmatched in the industry. We are constantly analyzing the entire Life Cycle of our products, in effort to use the least amount of energy, water, labor, and most efficient reuse of industrial and consumer waste for our product inputs.
You can be assured that every product you purchase from Play Mart is designed to last and to have minimal effects on the environment both during its production and usable life.
Almost all of our manufacturing waste and more than 75% of our operations’ waste is recycled. Scraps that we generate (such as saw shavings on the plant floor, packaging film, or metal scraps) are either reground for plastic lumber or sorted for recycling elsewhere. All purchased paper products are made from recycled materials. In fact, our local Office Depot stocks recycled paper products specifically for Play Mart.
We go to great lengths to research and choose the most environmentally-friendly materials and products we can offer our customers. Our suppliers have been encouraged to switch to manufacturing with recycled materials, or we find alternate suppliers when possible without compromising quality or economy. Often, whenever no supplier can be found to meet our standards in quality and service, we develop the product or activity internally (as in the case of RSP™).
